About Me (497 words)

Hello My name is Lizeth Guadalupe Almada Moreno and I’m a first year student in Sacramento City College. I’m majoring in Biological Sciences. I hope to graduate college and transfer to a 4-year university with an AA Degree, continue my studies and become a neurologist. Why a neurologist? Simply because I am fascinated by the human body and what it is capable of doing, not to mention how one of the most important organs in our body is the brain. The human brain is able to control the human body and help it adapt and survive to the conditions of its environment. It constantly receives information, interprets and sends a reaction to every chunk of information processed. Unlike other aspiring medical physicians I don’t just want o be able to help patients but also connect with them at a deeper level and understand them by studying their brains and knowing exactly why things happen the way they do inside their heads. I’m aware that the process won’t be easy and it might take a long time. I will get there eventually and I will have the satisfaction of having a job that I’m passionate about. In the meantime, I plan to expand my knowledge and take small steps that will make this process easier.

I like to read and write in my free time. In high school I had the honor to be part of the Creating Writing Club with a partnership of 916 Ink and publish a book with my classmates. This was a great experience for me I was familiar with everybody in the club we gave feedback to each other and it was a nice work environment. I learned a lot from each individual perspective and it was a really fun experience.

I also like to workout and keep my mind and body active. I considered this a great way to keep yourself busy and boost your energy for daily activities. This has also helped me a lot with stress and anxiety. Not long ago I found out that I suffer from Major Depressive and Anxiety Disorder and it was extremely hard to get out of that stage but exercise was one of the things that keeps me distracted as well as painting and reconnecting with dance. I’m not a professional painter I just like to draw and paint when I have free time and it has improved my patience and ability to focus. I would definitely recommend that to others and you don’t have to be great at it to start doing it.

I’m the oldest child it’s just me and my little brother, we live in Sacramento and love spending time outdoors with family and friends. There is nothing better that going for a morning walk/jog and getting fresh air. I have to say that I am personally in love with nature, there is so much to observe and discover new species. I provides a wonderful sensation as if you were home.
